George Washington slept here: a bike ride on the D&L Trail from Scudders Falls to Bristol and back

Summerseat is one of those forgotten mansions.

It’s Memorial Day, so this seems appropriate.

I know, George Washington spent a lot of time in New Jersey and Pennsylvania during the Revolution, so he slept in plenty of places. (And in the tent, of course).

But this was a new one for me: Summerseat, up on a hill not far from the Delaware River in Morrisville, PA.

Winery? Brewery? You pick your stop on this 22-mile Central Jersey loop

A birthday bike ride … where do we stop?

A friend wanted to celebrate a birthday with a bike ride. So we put together this 22-mile loop with two possible shade breaks — at a winery and a brewery.

Which would we choose?

I biked to Freehold for the Henry Hudson Trail and ended up in a brewery

Here’s to my schnitzel ride in Burlington County

There’s this German restaurant near Fort Dix that I see every once in a while and think, “I’d like to try that.” So I figured out a bike ride.

Five bikes in synch!

Yes, I tried a peanut butter beer on this bike ride

I’m nominating Ashton Brewing in Middlesex Borough as the place to find some really weird — as in unusual, in the nicest way — beers.

A bike ride to a new brewery just off the Lawrence Hopewell Trail

New Jersey’s Henry Hudson Trail is expanding

For you TL;DR types, this 0.4-mile addition could be open in two months, so the end of April.

Time to discover the 326 miles between Cleveland and Cincinnati.

I’m excited to bike the Ohio to Erie Trail in June …. or should I say Erie to Ohio?

This technically isn’t part of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail — but I love it

I’m now using the paved path to the Mount Rose parking lot to shave off a bit of biking on Carter Road

From the LHT, turn right at this sign onto the path to the parking lot.

There’s now a paved wide pathway from the Mount Rose Preserve parking lot off Carter Road in Hopewell Township, NJ, to the Mount Rose section of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail.
