Five of us will be biking along the Route Verte from outside Montreal to Quebec City along the St. Lawrence, then inland via Magog back to the start.
Got any sightseeing suggestions? Food tips? A favorite poutine spot?
Some, including me, will be staying in hotels and with Warmshowers hosts, but two are camping as prep for a bigger tour.
Here’s the itinerary. Daily mileage is approximate; I bet we end up with 450 miles (725 km) or so total. I’ll be happy for that day off in the middle!
Day 1: Boucherville (Montreal suburb) to Sorel-Tracy, 48 miles.
Day 2: Sorel-Tracy to Trois-Rivieres, 52 miles and a ferry.
Day 3: Trois-Rivieres to Portneuf, 54 miles. Deschambault seems like a little foodie town.
Day 4: Portneuf to Quebec City, 42 miles
Day 5: Sightseeing in Quebec City. “Free” walking tour of the Old City and the Capitales baseball team are already on the list.
Day 6: Quebec City to Plessisville, 59 miles and a ferry.
Day 7: Plessisville to Richmond, 49 miles.
Day 8: Richmond to North Hatley, 43 miles.
Day 9: North Hatley to Marieville, 72 miles. An early-morning tip for Magog? OK, the topiary dragon as we head out of town on Route 112 is a definite photo stop. I know about the cideries in Rougemont from a bike trip seven years ago.
Day 10: Marieville to Boucherville, 23 miles.
S, Enjoy!!! L
